Overview
The Araucanía region in southern Chile offers a stunning winter landscape with snow-covered volcanoes, native forests, and natural hot springs—perfect for outdoor adventures and relaxation.
At its heart is Malalcahuello, a charming mountain village in the Malalcahuello National Reserve. In winter, it becomes a hub for skiing and ski touring, with Corralco Resort offering groomed slopes on Lonquimay Volcano and vast terrain for backcountry exploration.
Further south, Pucón adds a vibrant touch to the journey. Nestled between Villarrica Volcano and a scenic lake, it’s known for its outdoor activities, thermal baths, and the newly upgraded Pillán Ski Resort, which offers skiing with panoramic views and easy access to the surrounding wilderness.
