Andes Playground: 12 Years of the Andes Through Pato Díaz's Lens

The Andes, captured by the person who films our adventures

If you've ever traveled with us, there's a good chance Pato Díaz was behind the camera. He's the filmmaker and designer who has shaped how Dip Your Trip sees — and shows — South America. Now he's released something we've been waiting years for: *Andes Playground*, a hardcover photography book that gathers more than a decade of his work in the mountains.

It is, in his own words, a tribute to the Cordillera de los Andes — the same range our travelers trek, climb and ski.

What's inside

*Andes Playground* is a limited-edition hardcover: 200+ photographs across 268 pages, 31×25 cm, weighing in at 1.5 kg. It's the result of more than 12 years of Pato traveling through these mountains and capturing their most extraordinary moments — a visual celebration of extreme landscapes, adventure and the raw beauty of the range we call home.

What makes it different from a typical coffee-table book is the point of view. These images aren't shot from a roadside lookout. They're seen through the eyes of the climber, the skier and the dreamer who has spent years documenting these places from the inside — from sunrises over Patagonia to epic descents through virgin snow in the most remote corners of the Andes.

Why it matters to us

The Andes are the spine of everything we do. Patagonia's granite towers, the volcanoes of the Lake District, the high desert of Atacama — they all belong to this same vast system. Pato's book is the closest thing to handing someone the feeling of standing there, before they ever board a flight south.

Where to get it

*Andes Playground* is available with immediate shipping while stock lasts, directly from Pato's studio at patodiazfilms.com/book.
